Show Down Memory Lane

Administrative Matters

I guess wedding planning is not all about conjuring up childhood fantasies of my dream wedding; but also unavoidable, down to earth and important things like financial/cash flow planning and other (often annoying) administrative tasks such as filling up forms, applying for permits, making phone calls & inquiries, comparing quotations, etc. So far, my most exciting 'administrative' task is getting hotel rates for the many guests who have wrote to us, inquiring about hotels they should check themselves into. It serves as a constant reminder that our wedding is not all about putting up the most impressive show; rather its about having our loved ones (from all over the world) come together to celebrate this special occasion with us :)

This morning, I took some time off work and dropped by the church to hand-in some forms for the rental and use of our church, as well as pick up other new forms that we will need to submit to JPN (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara) for our civil registry. As our Senior Pastor put it when I had a short chat with him; "Why is it that the brides are the ones who always run around doing these nitty-gritties?" I thought for a moment, and decided to be fair to Irwin ;) "Well, I guess somebody's got to go to work and earn a living, right?" keke. He laughed at my response and agreed.

I still can't believe that we are only down to 4 months now till the wedding. I thought it was just yesterday when I set up my wedding ticker and it still read 13 months and 6 days till I marry the love of my life! Sometimes I lie awake just thinking about all the details we have yet to get to. Then again, there really are some things which we will need to leave till the last minute to finalize... hmmm... I refuse to be stressed out -- Let's just say, I'm just getting a tiny bit anxious :P And you know what people always say? (Or at least what my Uni. prof used to tell us) -- Its always good to be a little anxious before your big presentation. Anxiety sort of keeps you on your toes and ensure that you will deliver your best :)
